Yoga Therapy

Picture

What is Yoga Therapy?

Yoga Therapy  is about exploring stories -- images, memories, sensations, colors -- that live within your body and are ready to be discovered on the yoga mat.  Yoga Therapy is a wonderful and scientifically proven way to  process these often hidden narratives, which at times are harder to access during traditional talk therapy.

We invite people to listen to their bodies, connect, tune in and process whatever arises in the moment. This depth of exploration comes from directly experiencing and having someone bear witness, learning about your edges and boundaries, verbalizing your experience, and moving in alignment with your personal needs, limitations and intentions.
We respect all of these elements and strive to co-create a safe space for you to discover yourself.

How might I benefit?

  • Increase symptom management, such as issues with anxiety & stress

  • Gain body and mind insights into issues or emotional blockages, including past memories stored in the body

  • Enhance body awareness & body acceptance

  • Adapt new modes for mind, body, spirit connection

  • Learn yoga, meditation and mindfulness skills

  • Reveal your strengths and capacity for self-exploration and healing

  • Experience feelings of self-efficacy, compassion and joy

  • Build trust in your body and intuition

  • Tap into new, adaptive mindsets and attitudes that support more holistic living in your daily life

What can I expect?

This kind of yoga therapy requires NO previous experience with yoga. In fact, our yoga has little resemblance to any "typical" yoga at all. All you need to bring is an open mind, body and spirit and some loose, comfortable clothing.

You will be led through a 60 or 90 minute session that includes a:
  • Check-In with Yoga Therapist (discuss any ailments, medical updates, current issues, recent life shifts, etc.)

  • Yoga Session (centering, exploration, integration)

  • Check-Out / Review & Integrate Learnings (discuss how you can use this information to benefit your daily life)

Corporate and Group sessions are available,  please contact us for details!
